Testimonials from Private students
I love going to my flute lessons. Learning new notes is my favourite. Sometimes my fingers get confused where they are supposed to go but Maria doesn’t get cross she just tells me to slow down, untangle them and think about what I am doing.
I like when Maria demonstrates pieces for me, it gives me an idea of what I have to do to get to a high standard. I like listening to her playing. Maria really likes scales and arpeggios but I don’t, I like
playing Prokofiev but she doesn’t so that makes us even. She talks about the breathing system better than my science teacher in school so it’s like revision at times.
I am doing my Leaving Certificate at the moment and Maria teaches me in a way that links in with
what I am doing in school with my pieces.
Maria explains things in a way that is easy to understand. She explained the style of a piece of music
in terms of fashion which was great fun. I don’t think I have ever had a lesson that I didn’t fully understand what we done by the time I went home.
Learning new notes is great, I like that she has fun names for things. She calls my thumb, Thumbelina and that makes me laugh loads.
Flute is hard work but I like it. Maria is good fun to be around even when I have had a bad day in school she will make me laugh.
If Maria was teaching at my school more people would do music. She is really funny, she works you hard and she genuinely loves music.
Maria is a fantastic flute teacher who gets the best out of you. To me she is also like a mini counsellor and my teacher. She will know when something is wrong and always does her best to help me out and calm me down. Since I have been with MF Music my tone and technique has improved massively an she has given me the confidence to work to the best of my ability.
